Miu is an average high-school student with a passion for tango, inspired by her dancer mother. In fact, she is so skilled at dancing that she could be mistaken for a professional. Working as a dance-escort at a party, she meets a South American businessman, Leon. Hounded by loan sharks, Miu's mother makes the decision to 'sell' her daughter off to Leon! An unsuspecting Miu returns home to find her mother missing and the loan sharks after her.

Left with no choice, Miu flees Japan with Leon, back to his homeland of Tornado (Note: this is a fictional nation, don't bother looking up the atlas). To her surprise, Miu finds herself falling in love with Leon. Leon soon announces his intention to marry her. Then disaster strikes.

Rebellion shakes the country. Leon's family is massacred. Only Leon and Miu escape death. Leon is marked for death by the new regime due to his close ties with the former government. The newly-wed pair flees and are soon separated. Miu finds herself alone and helpless in a foreign land. She embarks on a dangerous journey to find her husband, a journey which will take her from the steamy South American jungle to New York's glitzy Broadway…

This is a classical romance story featuring a feisty heroine. Miu often has to rely on her own wits and courage to survive in a hostile environment. Miu grows from a mere schoolgirl to a confident young woman.

This fast-paced romance and adventure story is a good read. You will find it hard to put down until the final chapter.
